A 13-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly supplying hashish, a refined form of cannabis, to three high school-aged girls.
Senior Constable Phil Wylie of Nelson police said it was alleged the girls smoked the hashish and their behaviour aroused the suspicions of a person who contacted the girls' school.
Mr Wylie would not say which school was involved in the incident.
The boy was to be dealt with by Youth Aid. The three girls would also be spoken to by Youth Aid for allegedly consuming a class B drug, he said.
