KEY POINTS:
Police have arrested 13 people on drug charges after raiding 12 houses in Manawatu today.
Detective Karen Heald said the 13 were charged with over 40 offences involving the sale and supply of Class A, B and C drugs.
Eleven of those arrested appeared at Palmerston North District Court today, and the other two would appear tomorrow, she said.
Ms Heald said today's raids were the culmination of a six week operation.
She said despite its success, police were still concerned at the availability of controlled drugs in the area.
