KEY POINTS:
Auckland police are disturbed at the number of drivers caught over the drink-drive limit this weekend.
One hundred and twenty-five people were detected with excess breath alcohol during a major city operation from early yesterday until this morning.
Police say they are getting fed up with offenders who do not seem to learn the lesson. Inspector Heather Wells says among those caught was a lawyer who was very blase about it, and did not seem to care about facing his third drunken-driving change.
She says another driver claimed he was a victim, and told police they had no right to set up a checkpoint in the city.
