A Levin church is being taken to court by Inland Revenue which is chasing a $1.2 million tax bill - something the church says is an honest mistake.
The IRD has filed to put the Samoan Methodist Church into liquidation over $730,000 unpaid PAYE and $500,000 in outstanding GST, the Manuwatu Times reported.
The claim was filed late last year and is due to be heard at the High Court at Palmerston North on February 3.
