A total of $120,000 of money donated by members of the travelling public will help bring Christmas cheer to a dozen charities around the country.
Auckland Airport is again giving charities from all around New Zealand the chance to get $10,000 each to help them continue to make a differencein their communities.
The money has been brought together thanks to members of the public who have donated unwanted currency into donation globes around the airport.
Auckland Airport's general manager of corporate affairs, Charles Spillane, said helping local organisations already doing big things for the public was a privilege.
"The 12 Days of Christmas programme has proved hugely popular over the past seven years and we are very excited to offer it again to New Zealand charities," Mr Spillane said.
Over the last few years, the Herald has profiled each of the winning charities in the lead-up to Christmas.
A wide range of registered Kiwi charities have been profiled over the years; including those helping the elderly, disability groups, women's refuge support groups and small community-based organisations helping the less fortunate.
The Herald will again feature this year's lucky winners starting from December 11.
