11-month-old girl run over by truck in Paeora driveway

An 11-month-old girl is fighting for her life after being run over by a small truck in a Paeroa driveway this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to an address in Bush Street at 2.30pm and the toddler airlifted to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition.

"The driver of the truck is not related to the house and the serious crash unit is speaking to the driver and investigating the circumstances of this tragic incident," said Inspector Tony Wakelin.

"Victim support has been offered to the girls family and the driver of the truck" he said.
