Police are investigating the theft of 100kg of 1080 poison from Westport on Wednesday night.
The poison pellets belonged to a possum exterminator contracted to the West Coast Regional Council.
Police said someone forced their way into a secure yard at Target Pest Contracting and took four 25kg nylon bags of pellets.
