107-year-old dies

One of the oldest people in New Zealand, Alma Braithwaite, has died in Kaitaia just weeks shy of her 107th birthday.

She was among the five oldest people in the country, and thought to be the oldest Northlander and the oldest person actually born in New Zealand.

She lived in three different centuries and saw the invention of many technological advances from the first aircraft to the internet.
