Around one thousand people gathered at the Auckland Town Hall earlier today to enjoy a lavish lunch put on by the City Mission.
The event has grown with the years to become a popular event for Auckland's underprivileged.
The meal was provided with the support of the Auckland public, the ASB Bank and the Auckland City Council.
The response from the mission's guests indicated no one left with an empty stomach.
They had a traditional Christmas dinner, including Christmas cake, followed by an appearance by Santa.
Musicians Don MacGlashan and Tim Finn provided the entertainment.
