A 10-year-old Invercargill boy gave new meaning to show and tell this week when he took cannabis to school.
Waihopai School principal Allan Mitchell said the boy had been stood down for two days after being caught with a small amount of the drug, The Southland Times reported.
He believed the child took it to school for "a bit of bravado" but did not intend to use it.
The matter had been referred to police, who had spoken to the school's year six pupils about cannabis.
