Palmerston North Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at the Broadway Avenue Pizza Hutt on Monday night.
Two, possibly three, offenders have entered the store shortly before closing. One of the offenders was armed with a machete.
The offenders were disguised during the incident and one of them was wearing a hi-vis vest. They demanded money from two staff who were present. The offenders made off with a quantity of cash after remaining in the store for several minutes.
The offenders have fled in a dark coloured vehicle, described as a reasonably late model car. This vehicle had been parked in a nearby alleyway immediately prior to the robbery.
The offenders' have left at speed along Albert Street then headed east bound along Main Street towards the city boundary.
