A man who was at the centre of a 30-hour lockdown has reappeared in court.
Caleb Kovaleski appeared in the Palmerston North District Court last Thursday on multiple charges, including several stemming from the incident that saw police close down the suburb of Cloverlea for almost two days.
The 25-year-old entered two not guilty pleas for one charge of unlawfully taking a motor vehicle in May, and one of attempting to unlawfully take a trailer in June.
He did not enter pleas to the remaining charges and was remanded in custody to reappear in September.
Defence lawyer Tony Thackery canvassed the possibility of making an application for bail at a later appearance, but Judge Stephanie Edwards said there was little prospect of thisbeing granted.
