The Manawatu Jets performed well against the Taranaki Mountain Airs in New Plymouth on Saturday night, claiming their third win of the National Basketball League season.
The first quarter saw the Jets up 27-20. The team continued to play well, leading 52-36 at halftime. The Mountain Airs managed to take the third quarter, putting up 27 points to the Jets' 17, however, the Jets were able to finish strong and win the game 108-92.
Import Dion Harris was again in excellent form, putting up 30 points to be the highest scorer for the Jets. He also had seven rebounds. Brook Ruscoe put up an impressive 22 points, while Jordan Ngatai finished with 16 points on the board.
The Saturday win means the Jets have now won three games and lost seven. The Airs have yet to win a game this season and sit at the bottom of the NBL table.
The highest scorer for the Airs was Aaron Fuller with 33 points. Fuller also had nine rebounds and five assists. Chris Hagan was another standout with 25 points, four rebounds and seven assists.
