New Zealand's rape culture was the focus of a protest held in The Square last weekend as part of the nationwide National Day of Action Against Rape.
In the midst of the Roast Busters sex scandal, thousands marched the pavements in cities across the country in an effort to show their intolerance for sexual abuse.
A small crowd gathered at the Cenotaph, expressing their concern for the lack of support available to victims.
Massey University lecturer Deborah Russell said there were several things people could already be doing to combat rape.
"There are things that can be done right now to change rape culture in New Zealand; firstly, donate to those charities that support victims ... donate your time or skills and put pressure on politicians," she said.
