All Black legend Zinzan Brooke has spoken of his friendship with Elton John, telling how he donned the singer's clothes for a photoshoot and treated him to a haka.
London-based Brooke, 44, took part in a photoshoot for GQ magazine to promote Out of the Closet, a charity sale of flamboyant clothing owned by John and his partner David Furnish.
The sale, on December 12, was a fundraiser for the Elton John Aids Foundation.
Draped in a colourful Versace silk robe and John's trademark white-rimmed glasses, a stubble-faced Brooke was snapped reclining in a chair flicking through a notebook.
The shoot, in John's London home, also featured some of his other celebrity pals, including Sting, Natalie Imbruglia, rugby player Paul Sackey and Scream actress Neve Campbell.
"I loved my outfit and was really surprised at how well it fitted me," Brooke told GQ. "The shoot was great - I did the haka in Elton John's house."
The sale featured outfits worn on stage by John and some of Furnish's favourite Christian Dior shirts.
Items sold for up to £2000 ($4500).
"Out of the Closet has become an amazing fundraising opportunity for the Elton John Aids Foundation," John said before the event.
"We always get a fantastic response from the public - I think the idea that the items we all buy and enjoy can help someone in dire need, particularly at this time of the year, really strikes a chord."
