Great news for lovers of Zadie Smith's White Teeth - and we know there are a lot of you out there, since 13,000 copies have been sold in New Zealand alone.
The UK Channel 4 adaptation of this riotously popular, quirky comedy will screen here in two parts in the Lexus Sunday Theatre spot on TV1, beginning tomorrow, March 9, at 8.30pm, and continuing March 16.
Despite the fact that so many people have read the book and were therefore watching the telly version like hawks for differences and faults, the piece, served up as four self-contained short stories, was nevertheless well received in Britain.
The Guardian concluded that Smith's "uncommon luck as a writer" (shame about Autograph Man) has continued with the people - Simon Burke and director Julian Jarrold - who have brought her debut novel to the screen.
Not to be missed.
