David (Omari Grandberry) and Elgin (Marques Houston) run the best dance team in town, cleaning up every competition at Mr Rad's, until Wade (Christopher Jones) and his boys show up with a $5000 wager. Our boys borrow the cash from Elgin's grandma and, yes, they lose for the first time. To pay her back the lads get a delivery job: moving the product for the local drug dealer.
Which can only lead to more trouble. Yep, one night out dealing, Elgin is mugged, the stash is stolen, and he's in hospital, figuring how to pay back grandma and the dealer. And not speaking to David because he got Elgin into this fine mess.
Not to worry, this is a contemporary take on the traditional Hollywood musical. There is another, bigger dance contest coming to town. Will the boys make up their differences, re-form their team, and win the big cheque this time around? Whadda you think?
The DVD features commentaries with the cast and with director Chris Stokes, Grandberry and Houston. Features include a better than average making-of, Serve It Up; a B2K music video featuring Fabolous, and Dance Breakdown, a multi-angle version of the opening sequence.
