The "Top Ramen" of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster and his colander wearing followers are celebrating a matrimonial victory this week.
The church has announced its official approval to perform marriages in New Zealand.
Approved by the registrar-general of births, deaths and marriages, it was listed in the New Zealand Gazette.
The church describes itself on its Facebook page, where it has 781 'likes', as holding a belief in pirates, "the original Pastafarians, were peaceful explorers and it was due to Christian misinformation that they have an image of outcast criminals today".
They also note a fondness for beer, claim every Friday as a religious holiday, don't take themselves too seriously and embrace contradictions.
