Woman calls out boyfriend for telling her not to wear dressing gown around him

A woman has called out her boyfriend over an insensitive text suggesting she make more of an effort for him - and now she's being urged to dump him by hundreds of strangers.

Twitter user Harriet, who uses the handle @disneypr1nc3ss, tweeted a screenshot of a text exchange between her and the unnamed man, in which he asks her not to wear a dressing gown - which he misspelled 'greasing gown' - when he comes to visit her.

The man told her it "doesn't hurt to put something nice on", to which she fired back an expletive, reports Daily Mail.

And far from taking his suggestion on board, Harriet decided to broadcast his opinions to the internet instead, sharing the screen-grab with the caption: "Warning girls do not wear a dressing gown when he comes round."

Thousands of Twitter users have now re-tweeted her post, including many women who replied with a succinct: "Dump him."

Harriet got a text saying that it "annoys him" that she dresses so casually when he comes over, which clearly struck a nerve with her.

Clearly not taking a hint, the man went on: "Yesterday you were sat there in your greasing gown [sic].

"Doesn't hurt to put some nice clothes on."

Harriet didn't let him get away with the comment, and told him "Wow you sound like a c***."

But the man still didn't understand why she was angered by his message, saying: "For pointing out that you wear a dressing gown to see me?"

Harriet tweeted the snap as a word of warning to her Twitter followers, and it has since gone viral.

She captioned the post: "Warning girls do not wear a dressing gown when he comes round x"

Hundreds of Twitter users have responded to the tweet urging Harriet to break up with the unnamed man for his "controlling" behaviour.

One tweeted: "Go meet him, whilst in your dressing gown- and promptly dump him."

"U gotta throw the whole man away," another posted.

A third said: "Omg he would be dumped."

"You don't need that negativity in ur life gal [sic]," a fourth agreed.
