The Winter Writers Week, organised by Continuing Education at Auckland University, begins on Monday and all workshops apart from poetry are full (if you're interested in The Practice of Poetry with Montana finalist Anna Jackson, act quickly).
However, the lectures held each day between 10am and 11am, featuring a range of specialist speakers, are open to the public, $60 for the five, July 15-19, in Rm 716 in Arts Building 1, 18 Symonds St.
Monday: poets Anna Jackson, Michele Leggott and others
Tuesday: Rose Lovell-Smith on writing for children
Wednesday: novelist Stephanie Johnson
Thursday: screenwriter Vanessa Alexander
