2013 Harakeke Farm Chardonnay
This relatively new Upper Moutere Nelson producer got rave reviews from this column on their inaugural releases last year. It's getting even better. They have an under-$30 pinot noir that has to be the best-value New Zealand pinot, and this chardonnay is exquisite. Not big or full of swagger and attitude, it's quietly understated, with more than just a nod to a Burgundian style. Flinty and mineral-infused, with elements of genius. Not just one to watch - purchase immediately.
Price: $25
