How it works: Entrants take to the catwalk where approximately six competitors will be selected to go through to the regional final.
Please note: there are no separate categories and it is men against women.
Regional final: The regional final is made up of approximately 14 winners from fashion events around the country with the six qualifiers from the day's catwalk competition. The 20 regional finalists will then be narrowed down to five, from which one will be named the overall winner.
The winner: The overall winner will win a prize package valued at more than $30,000, including two beautiful Thomas Sabo jewellery sets and two watches, valued at more than $8000, two bespoke couture millinery pieces valued at $5000 designed by Natalie Chan, $4500 Westfield gift cards, a Westfield personal styling session, $4300 of Schwarzkopf Professional hair products and $700 worth of salon colour services from your nearest salon that uses Schwarzkopf Professional colour, two sets of the Samsonite Firelite luggage collection and a trip to the Melbourne Cup Carnival including; four night's accommodation at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, two tickets to Emirates Melbourne Cup Day and two tickets to Crown Oaks Day
with hospitality in the Myer Fashions on the Field enclosure on both days.
COMPETITION TWO
Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup Day, Wednesday, March 5 - Hawaiian Airlines Cup Couture
Brilliant colour and striking, vibrant designs make a statement on Auckland Cup Day.
The day's fashion award, Cup Couture celebrates coordinated race-day fashion - this competition is all about style, glamour and sophistication in pairs.
How to enter:
• Any couple can enter and entry is free
• All entrants must be 18 years or over
• Racegoers oncourse need to be spotted as part of a duo and impress the judges with their race-day style.
How it works: Judges roam the course on the lookout for the best-dressed couples. Three couples will be selected for the final where the couple whose look best embodies the style, glamour and prestige of Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup Day will win a fabulous prize package.
The 2014 judges will be Maria Tutaia, Northern Mystics captain and Barfoot & Thompson's ambassador to the races and Clifton Piper, network stylist for TVNZ.
The winning couple will receive a prize package from Hawaiian Airlines and The Modern Honolulu valued at $5000 each.
COMPETITION THREE
Diamond Day, Saturday, March 8 - Diamond Darling
On Diamond Day one fabulously well-dressed female racegoer will win the Diamond Darling fashion competition.
How to enter:
• The competition is open to all ladies oncourse and entry is free
• Racegoers oncourse just need to be spotted and impress the judges with their race-day style.
How it works: Judges will choose up to 14 best-dressed women who will each draw a horse in the Group I $200,000 Haunui Farm Diamond Stakes. The finalists will be invited to the exclusive pre-race hospitality where they will meet the trainer and jockey of their selected horse and watch the running of the race from the main dais - the finalist, whose horse wins the race, wins the fabulous prize package.
