KEY POINTS:
Visitors to the 2008 Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show in Auckland from May 15-18 will have four chances to win a boat package gate prize, according to show general manager Dave Gibbs.
"In what we are pretty sure is yet another world first for New Zealand's biggest and most popular boat show, we plan to give away a fully kitted-out boat every single day of the show," he says.
To enter the Win A Boat A Day draw, show visitors will still have to collect a series of stamps from specially marked booths at the show. However, instead of having just one chance to win at the end of the show, each entry will now compete only with entries from those who also attended on the same day.
"This greatly improves every show visitor's chance of taking home a brand new boat," says Mr Gibbs.
The four Zodiac/Yamaha gate prize packages will consist of a Zodiac Pro7 RIB sports boat on a specially made trailer.
All four will be powered with a new Yamaha 40hp outboard and fitted with an Ology Sports Tower, Raymarine electronics and a high-quality Fusion marine sound system.
Mr Gibbs says that while he is still finalising all of the extras that will be fitted to the boats, each package will have a retail value of at least $30,000.
"We are very excited about this promotion," he says. "Not only is this the first time a boat show has given away a boat a day, our total prize pool of over $120,000 will also be a record.
"Together with a number of other promotions we will be announcing toward the end of summer, Win A Boat A Day will help us build on the huge success of the 2007 show and ensure that the 2008 Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show is one of the best boat shows ever."
The 2008 Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show will be held at the ASB Showgrounds in Greenlane, Auckland on May 15-18.
The show is open from 10am until 9pm on Thursday, May 15 and Friday, May 16 and from 10am until 6pm on Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18. Those who attend between 5pm and 9pm on the Thursday or Friday will also receive a bonus card, giving them a second chance to win that days' Zodiac/Yamaha gate prize.
