New Zealander Charlotte Austin believes her good sense of humour and down-to-earth personality are what made her attractive to singer Robbie Williams.
The 26-year-old hospitality worker met Williams while she was working in the posh Conrad Hotel, next door to the star's multi-million dollar apartment.
In an interview with British tabloid, the Sunday Mirror, Austin said: "We hit it off right away. I'm not a fan and I don't like his music at all... I took the piss out of him, I think he felt comfortable with me."
Austin, who left New Zealand 18 months ago for London, also revealed more intimate details during the tell-all interview.
"Even though it was Robbie Williams, it still isn't like a movie where people are ripping each others clothes off.
"It was all very real, but very lovely. We just walked into the bedroom and proceeded to have some serious hanky-panky."
Austin added that Williams was the best lover she had ever had "because he is so unselfish and just so lovely about it all.... And stamina-wise, he has no problems at all."
The unlikely couple met in May 2005 when superstar Williams tried to evade paparazzi by hiding in the hotel bar, the Sunday Mirror reported.
Despite his reputation as a notorious womaniser, 32-year-old Williams took a further 10 months before asking Austin for her phone number.
"He asked me when we were going to head out and I told him I was free the following night."
After meeting Williams at his South London recording studio, Austin said the pair went back to the superstar's apartment and hung out, watching television.
"We kissed and it was lovely, but there was no suggestion we were going to have sex that first night. We just fell asleep in each other's arms at about 2am."
When the two did consummate their relationship, Williams wooed Austin by serenading her with Elton John's ballad Tiny Dancer.
Williams' immense fame meant the pair couldn't go out in London, so their relationship was relegated to the confines of his apartment, said Austin. She added that their dates were "normal to the point of being boring".
Austin acknowledged she was only one of William's "girls" and said there were unwritten rules she just had to accept.
"There's kind of an unspoken arrangement with Robbie. You know he might never call back. You know you're not the only one.
"I knew he was with lots of other girls at the same time - he has them all over the world - that's just something you accept."
Despite selling her story to the press, Austin said she never wanted to discuss the affair.
She said she only spoke out after details of their relationship emerged in the media.
"I just wanted to set the story straight about how lovely he really is."
