Halloween may be an iffy concept in Australia and New Zealand, but that doesn't mean we can't appreciate costumes that take puns to the next level.

A middle-aged married couple has gone viral over this cheesy but brilliant get-up, which - we should warn you now - takes "dad joke" to the next level.

Look carefully and see if you can work out the pun.

A dill pickle and a deer? What's so raunchy about that, you ask?

Ms Bogin said her parents have recently become empty nesters, so they have a lot more time on their hands to get creative.

She told Buzzfeed they're a close family and they're always experimenting with entertaining new ideas.

"I thought the idea was hilarious and I was really proud that they are my parents and doing something so witty, so I just wanted to share it with my friends," she said. "I've always tweeted funny things that happen with my family and my parents always joke, 'You've got to tweet that' when something funny happens."
