Kiwi chocolate company, Whittaker's, will unveil a collection of interesting new flavours that include Kaitaia Fire hot sauce, Marlborough sea salt and Oolong tea grown in the Waikato.
The six colourful new varieties will make use of luxury artisan producers around New Zealand and the Pacific, the company said today.
"With so many fantastic artisan producers right on doorstep, it seemed like a natural step to combine Whittaker's chocolate," said marketing manager, Holly Whittaker.
Hot sauce fans can get fired up about the Kaitaia Fire Chili Pepper Spice in Dark Chocolate. Pacific sea salt from Marlborough's Lake Grassmere will be combined with caramel brittle and sprinkled through milk chocolate. Hawke's Bay Braeburn apples plus a hint of vanilla from Tonga will go with white chocolate while Waikato grown organic Oolong tea will be infused with Whittaker's rich 50 per cent dark chocolate.
Nelson pears and Mossop's Manuka honey out of Tauranga will combine for a sticky milk chocolate combo and there is also a new Single Origin Samoan Cacoa block made with Trinitario cocoa from the Vaai Family Plantation in Samoa.
