Art in a day
Capture the character and identity of Auckland suburbs Parnell, Newmarket and Grafton, through painting and drawing media. Artists will choose one of 10 locations within the suburbs to paint or draw "en plein air" (in the open air, at locations such as Outhwaite Park, The artwork created on this day will be exhibited at the Jubilee Building in Parnell next weekend. Prizes for winning artwork will be awarded at a ceremony at the Jubilee Building on Saturday, February 27 at 6.30pm.

Pride bliss
New Zealand girl band Truebliss reunites to perform at the Auckland Pride Parade. Megan Alatini, Keri Harper, Joe Cotton and Erika Takacs show their support of Pride and celebrate the LGBTIQ community. Truebliss perform at 9pm on the Pride Float Stage, Happy Ending, Western Park. The parade goes from Three Lamps, making its way to the end point in Western Park.

See the light
You have two days to get to Auckland Domain, the new location for Auckland's Lantern Festival. In a fitting finale to the festival, New Zealand's leading piano trio NZTrio present Spirit of Chimes - a rich catalogue of music from China and Aotearoa matched with large-scale visual images of historical jade and pounamu artefacts, unearthed from the museum's collections. Critically acclaimed, NZTrio smash preconceptions of classical music being "stuffy" or "intimidating" by presenting it in a fresh and approachable way, appealing to all.

Spanish Flamenco dancer Isabel Rivera Cuenca returns to Q Theatre with her show Mis Latidos (My Heartbeat), an elegant journey of traditional Flamenco styles, captivating audiences through an intimate and expressive performance.

Grab a blankie, your kids, your friends and/or your honey, and head to the Clevedon Jazz, Wine and Food Festival. There'll be seven live jazz bands and artists on the professional stage including Nathan Haines as MC/DJ, and Kevin Field. Local and regional wines and tastings, craft beer suppliers, tasty food and fun for kids.

Make a splash
Come and test your swimming prowess in the stunning waters of the famous Rotorua Blue Lake at the inaugural Legend of the Lake swim. Participants can challenge themselves with a variety of swim distances , including the 300m Give it a Go, the 1000m Step it Up, the 3.5km I'm Going Long and the 300m Tag Team Relay.
For youngsters there's the 200m OceanKids' event, where budding swim talent will have the opportunity to compete for a place in the coveted Jetstar Super Swim Squad.
