Volcanoes Have A Blast
Forget the City of Sails - let's talk about the City of Volcanoes. The central library will have you hunting for information on Auckland's many volcanoes, and then even let you try making your own miniature volcanic eruption. This session is aimed at children aged 7-13 and their families.

Start the weekend with a wonderful musical performance from Australian artists Borneo and Jordan Leser on Saturday afternoon, before discovering some vintage treasures and hand-picked steals at the curated Vintage Silo Markets - complete with pin-up and rockabilly fashion, as well as a vintage car display.

Music in Parks
Summer means music in and around Auckland's parks. The season's line-up starts with an afternoon of jazz, with powerful eight-piece, The Jac and solo artist Trudy Lile each performing a selection of wonderful songs.

Apocalypse How?
Remember the Y2K scare and the predictions around the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012? Take a light-hearted look at the apocalypse, discovering first-hand what it could look and feel like if the world were to end. Entertainment includes musicians, apocalyptic themed gladiators and bicycle jousting displays - just come dressed in your best "wasteland" outfit.

D1NZ National Drifting Championship
Join the party for the Bay of Plenty's only taste of Pro-Championship drifting this year, as 60 of the country's best battle it out, tyre-to-tyre. And for the first time, the party won't stop when the sun goes down, with all the high-octane action continuing under the stadium's lights.

This sporty festival celebrates active lifestyles, fitness and fun. And there really is something for all ages and abilities, from the Port of Tauranga Half, the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon, Mauao fun run and Hoe Tahi paddle race, through to the outdoor cinema and market.
