New Zealand Fashion weekend starts up when the trade shows of fashion week leave off. Kicked off with a Kate Sylvester party, there are Resene Designer Selection shows (complete with goodie bags) all weekend, a pampering beauty hub, exhibition hall and the shop 'till you drop Designer Pop-Up Sale. The show on our radar is the AOK K' Road, a group of K' Road designers including avant-garde jeweller Nick Von K, Lela Jacobs, Jimmy-D, and Jason Lingard. More than just a runway show - these designers live and work on the cutting edge.
• Saturday 10am to 8pm (early entry VIP Designer Pop-Up 9am), Sunday 10.30am to 6.30pm. K Rd show Saturday, 2.30pm. Viaduct Events Centre.

Eight of the world's leading darts players compete in the PDC World Series: Auckland Darts Masters, including World Champion Gary Anderson, world number one Michael van Gerwen and legendary 16-time World Champion Phil Taylor and eight Oceanic qualifiers. This is a step up from your pub/rumpus room attempts.

4. Mag scene
Celebrating zines, small press, prints, art and all things DIY - the Auckland Zinefest Market is a great place for creative people to get together and express themselves. With works from over 60 zine makers and artists, displaying and selling a wide variety of wares, the Quick Draw Sketch Gang will be creating unique portraits during the weekend's 24-hour zine making challenge.
• Today, 12-5pm. Pitt Street Methodist Church.
5. Big bang
The wonderful winter series of Pick & Mix at Auckland Live is heading into its last few sessions. This weekend, Strike: Drums & Rhythms bring a high energy show with percussion sounds from across the globe (and a few special ones of their own). Performances at 10.30am are followed by workshops where everyone is given a percussion instrument to join in a heart pumping performance.
Sunday is also the Storylines Auckland Family Day bringing children together with beloved authors, illustrators and storytellers from around the country, plus chances for budding authors to create their own works, enter competitions and or just soak up books.
• Today, 10.30am-12.30pm, Aotea Centre. Tomorrow, 10.30am-12.30pm. Bruce Mason Centre.
Storylines, tomorrow 10am - 3pm .
