Friday, sees a whole host of in-store celebrations including live exhibits at the Downtown Shopping Centre, from 12pm-3pm, and free champagne and nibbles at Agatha Paris in Vulcan Lane, from 4pm-7pm. Head to Victoria Park, from 6pm-8.30pm for the Designer Garage Sale (tickets $25 from iticket.co.nz) and nab yourself some bargains. Then, as the sun goes down, Silo Park is the place to be for the free outdoor screening of Breakfast At Tiffany's.
Saturday morning head to High Street District Market Day, 10am-4pm, for live music, fashion, food and art. Nearby at 230 Queen St, is the Farmers Fashion & Beauty Special Event Weekend, which runs from 10am-5.30pm on Saturday, and 10am-5pm on Sunday). There'll be makeup artists on hand for makeovers, product demonstrations and styling advice. We also recommend booking in for the midday lunch at the fabulous Hotel DeBrett and enjoying the fashion on show from Pearl and Liz Mitchell.
The Designer Garage Sale is on again at Vic Park (tickets $25 from iticket.co.nz), and at the Auckland Art Gallery the Film Archive presents The Way We Dressed, at 1pm & 2pm. This is free and a fascinating chance to look back at New Zealand style through film and television.
Sunday, and a fun place to be is Silo Park again for Bespoke - Cycle Style, where there'll be a full market, fashion shows and more.
The Farmers Fashion & Beauty Special Event Weekend is on again, as is the Designer Sale at Victoria Park, while at the Auckland Art Gallery, AUT fashion design lecturer Gabriella Trussardi combines art with fashion in a free talk.
George FM DJs will be filling the air with funky sounds at the official wrap party for the Fashion in the BIG Little City at Freyberg Square from 2pm-5pm, while at 3pm, back at the Art Gallery, there will be a free showing of that fab fashion film, The September Issue.
