From print blocking to cold shoulder, these are going to be the biggest fashion trends in 2016.
Begone man buns, culottes and Birkenstocks, here's what we predict you'll be coveting in the new year.
1. Robe Life
Here's why your bathrobe is the coolest coat for 2016: If you know Instagram, then you know the hashtag #robelife. With over 14,000 tags, you can trawl a plethora of luxury "robed" moments spent in high-end hotel rooms. And in 2016 you won't need a fancy hotel suite to get on this Insta-bandwagon.
Off-the-shoulder is nothing new, but adding in the half sleeve certainly is. Perfect for a breezy summer night, or for those who are too cool to wear a full sleeve. Or any sleeve at all.
3. To Dye For
Tie-dye is spring's new answer to floral. After a large fashion presence at this year's Burning Man festival, we predict those hippie vibes will come in hot as the weather warms in 2016.
4. Good Nightie
The perfect accompaniment to #robelife, the silk nightie is one look we can expect to see on the streets well beyond a mad morning dash to the recycling bin. What's next? Heeled slippers?
5. Blue Jean Babies
We know, when hasn't denim been a thing? The update for 2016 farewells skinny jeans in favour of wide legs paired with oversized shirts, cropped and tailored.
6. All ruffled up
Why don't you go ahead and add another layer to that? The more layers the better is the motto for 2016. Forget minimalism, more is more.
7. Street Chic
If activewear was your thing this year, then street chic is your 2016 equivalent. Think matching tracksuits and Jessica Alba circa her 2003 hit Honey, - you remember digging those low-riding slacks.
Up until now, fringing was like a part-time pal: The one you only called or hung out with when you needed a bit of a change of scene. This isn't the case for 2016. Our fringing friend is the main event and she is coming along with us everywhere. Think dresses, knee-high boots and statement clutches.
9. The Block
Print blocking that is, not Brooke and Mitch with a hammer. If colour-blocking was your thing this year, then step it up a notch with inspiration from DVF and Tommy Hilfiger. Bold fabrics and clashing prints are the way to catch any eye in the new year.
10. 70s Band-Aid
This is a modern take on the suede and psychedelic girl. Think mixed prints, chiffon dresses and layered flares paired with suede jackets or fur. Think Thelma & Louise meets Austin Powers, Gold Member.
