What Meghan's fans think of her charity cookbook recipes

Meghan Markle fans are already whipping up dishes from the charity cookbook she launched to support families affected by the Grenfell Tower inferno.

The Duchess of Sussex has inspired a wave of home cooks to try their hand at some of the recipes, and they've been sharing snaps of their efforts on Instagram using the hashtag #CookTogether, inspired by the book.

Together: Our Community Cookbook, which was produced by cooks from the Hubb Community Kitchen based near the site of the tower in West London, and features a foreword written by Meghan, hit shops on Thursday.

After reading an article on the Duchess of Sussex and her involvement with the Hubb Community Kitchen, I was able to get my hands on a copy of the recipe for Aysha Bora’s Kuku Paka ... Coconut Chicken Curry from their new cookbook, “Together: Our Community Cookbook” .. it looked delicious in the article and it’s freakin amazing “in person” ... And already pictures of her admirers' attempts at the coconut chicken curry, or the avocado dip Meghan says has quickly become a personal favourite for her and Harry, are cropping up on social media, reports the Daily Mail.

Several home chefs have attempted the simple chocolate cake, while one particularly ambitious blogger whipped up 10 different dishes from the cookbook over the weekend - including spiced potato kibbeh and kofta kebabs.

Susane Barbsy wrote: "Together is a lovely book written by, and with proceeds going to, a community kitchen of women in Grenfell.

"Today we made our first recipe from it. E dropped an egg on the floor, I set the oven glove alight and put the dirty measuring spoons in Simon's tea but the cake is lovely."

Food blogger Gemma said: "Spent the day making recipes from Together: Our Community Cookbook!"

For her first solo project as a member of the Royal Family, Meghan made several secret trips to the kitchen of the Al Manaar cultural centre after an initial visit in January.

On her visits to the Hubb Community Kitchen, the Duchess donned an apron and helped cook meals using the women's personal recipes from across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and the eastern Mediterranean.

In the foreword, Meghan said: "I immediately felt connected to this community kitchen; it is a place for women to laugh, grieve, cry and cook together.

"Melding cultural identities under a shared roof, it creates a space to feel a sense of normalcy - in its simplest form, the universal need to connect, nurture, and commune through food, through crisis or joy - something we can all relate to...

"Through this charitable endeavour, the proceeds will allow the kitchen to thrive and keep the global spirit of community alive."

Now her self-described "labour of love" has come to fruition and the proceeds of the book will support the kitchen as well as related projects helping those affected by the blaze which killed 72 on June 14 last year.
