"It took Weevil's breath away. His feelers twitched in amazement. He scuttled forwards towards a gap in the tent that looked like a door.

He pushed his head inside and gasped. The tent was buzzing with insects. Each one was busy practising a special circus routine. A daddy-longlegs on stilts, dressed as a clown, pushed past Weevil into the centre of a huge ring. A large cockroach was juggling six clubs at once. A small group of fireflies were spitting flames at each other and a Chinese dragonfly in a glittering costume was trying out an exotic dance.

Nearby, a group of flea acrobats were being ticked off by their trainer. At the far end of the circus ring, a silverfish dived from a high ladder and splashed noisily into a small diving pool below.
