For the most part, the general rule of what to wear to a wedding is to avoid anything that could be mistaken for a wedding dress. Sometimes, however, there are grey areas that can make the decision difficult.
One wedding guest was unsure whether her planned outfit was appropriate or not and turned to online forum Mumsnet for advice — and some people weren't impressed with her choice.
"I need help, I don't know if I've massively over thought this now or am I going to be hunted down and killed by the wedding fashion mafia?" she wrote.
She explained she had originally planned to wear a suit to an upcoming wedding but decided to change it to checkered tapered pants, a cream T-shirt and cream heels.
"I was happy with my look … then I read that you Cannot wear, cream ivory or white to someone else's wedding," she wrote.
