Sigourney Weaver will be on television screens next year with the story of her first journey back to the mountains of Rwanda, 18 years after making the movie Gorillas in the Mist.
Weaver visited the mountain apes, featured in the biopic about crusading conservationist Dian Fossey, for a BBC documentary, Gorillas Revisited.
The actress said it was "a project from my heart".
Weaver is headlining a fundraising drive for US$30 ($42.54) million to continue conservation projects of the Fossey Fund in Rwanda and the Congo.
