Kiwi singer Ladyhawke and actress Madeleine Sami exchanged vows at a late afternoon wedding under perfect Wairarapa weather yesterday.
The celebrities married at the picturesque function centre of Te Parae, a 20-minute drive east of Masterton.
About 200 people were invited to the celebration, held in the community where Ladyhawke, real name Pip Brown, was born and raised.
Given the couple's affiliation with the arts, it was expected that a number of musicians and actors would be there, including Taika Waititi, who directed and starred in Kiwi vampire flick What We Do In The Shadows.
He was spotted at Farmers in Masterton, buying a belt.
When asked by a reporter for a photo, he asked if it could be quick: "I'm running late for a wedding."
Three busloads of guests were spotted heading to the remote venue about 3pm. A source, who did not want to be named, told the Herald it would be a big day for the couple.
"There'll be over 200 people there. It's going to be quite big and lots of celebs [around]."
