An American woman, distraught after being dumped by her 'virtual' boyfriend, took matters - plus a Taser, air gun and a roll of duct tape - into her own hands.
A US news station reported that North Carolina 33-year-old Kimberly Jernigan was distressed when her Second Life relationship with a 52-year-old man from Delaware ended when the pair met face-to-face.
She was 'sent into a downward spiral' after the unnamed man broke up with her. So she tried to kidnap him at gunpoint from his workplace.
That attempt failed, but she returned to Delaware disguised as a postal worker to try and find his home address - which, after four days of searching, she did.
She allegedly broke into the man's apartment armed with a Taser, a pair of handcuffs, a BB gun, her dog, and a roll of duct tape.
The man returned home, saw what 'looked like a laser beam' pointed at his chest, immediately fled and called the police.
Police arrived at the apartment to find Jernigan's dog bound with duct tape in the bathtub. She may also face animal cruelty charges.
Jernigan herself was later found by police at a roadside rest area and, after a short struggle, was arrested on attempted kidnapping, burglary, and aggravated menacing charges.
