KEY POINTS:
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have once again made the Best-Dressed Couples list compiled by fashion bible Vanity Fair.
The pair, who topped the magazine's annual poll last year, have been named alongside other power couples such as David and Victoria Beckham and Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore on the 2008 list.
Vanity Fair has also compiled its lists of best-dressed male and female celebrities, though who tops each of the lists won't be known until the September issue of the magazine hits newsstands tomorrow.
Speaking in a video on Vanity Fair's website, special correspondent Amy Fine Collins said Jolie was to be commended for her clothing choices while pregnant with her recently-born twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline.
Pitt's numerous flawless red-carpet appearances were also singled out for attention.
A number of websites have reported that Michelle Obama, the wife of the American Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, is the best-dressed woman on the Vanity Fair list, however the magazine's website states only that she has made the list.
Obama became a fashion icon in June when there was a run on a US$148 Donna Ricci dress after she was seen wearing it.
Former model and French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, Kate Middleton - the girlfriend of Britain's Prince William - Sarah Jessica Parker, Oscar-winner Tilda Swinton and Ivanka Trump are also featured on the list of best-dressed women.
Soccer star Beckham made the men's list, along with James Bond actor Daniel Craig, rapper Kanye West and fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.
Amy Fine Collins said Vanity Fair's International Best Dressed list was the original list of its kind.
"It's the first best-dressed list that has been continually published and run since 1939," she said.
