Melania Trump conjured her husband’s days in the boardroom of The Apprentice for her new official White House portrait.
The black-and-white photograph shows the First Lady taking an authoritative stance at the head of a table in the famous residence’s Yellow Oval Room.
She wears an unbuttoned white shirt, high-waisted trousers and a black jacket with wide lapels.
With her arms spread wide and fingertips resting on a mirrored table, her pose echoes her husband’s time in the boardroom as the star of NBC’s The Apprentice.
Behind her, the Washington Monument can be seen through the window.
The portrait was taken by Belgian photographer Regine Mahaux, who also shot the First Lady for her first term in the White House and later for the French magazine Paris Match.
Mahaux also previously photographed the tennis player Roger Federer, singer Rita Ora, and F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, according to her website.
Melania Trump’s first White House portrait from 2017 was shot in colour and prominently displays her engagement ring, which her husband Donald Trump presented her with when he proposed in 2004.
Melania Trump cut a severe figure as her husband was sworn into office on inauguration day last week, wearing a boater hat pulled low over her eyes and a long navy coat as temperatures in Washington, DC fell below freezing.
Before taking the oath of office, Donald Trump attempted to kiss his wife on the cheek, but was intercepted by the wide brim of her hat.
