A Hollywood star's former wife who wants to buy a slice of Whangarei coastal paradise is also keen on two other properties in the district, the Overseas Investment Commission says.
Joy Ann Stockwell, 55, who was married to actor Dean Stockwell for 23 years, has three applications before the Overseas Investment Commission (OIC) to buy property in Whangarei.
Last month it was reported that Ms Stockwell applied to the OIC to buy the the Blue Heron Holiday Park - and its beach front at Tamaterau - on the Whangarei Harbour, for $1.5 million.
The OIC has now supplied copies of two other applications for permission to buy properties the eco-friendly property developer, real estate investor, interior designer and environmental activist wants in Whangarei.
Ms Stockwell wants to buy a 99.9834 hectare property at Waikaraka, Whangarei Heads, that is in two titles for $735,000.
She also wants to by a 2.9ha property running between Riverside Dr and Punga Grove Ave, that is also in two titles, for $518,000.
In her application to the OIC, Ms Stockwell said the Waikaraka property would eventually be subdivided, but the property in the city would be her residential address. She intends to apply for New Zealand residency.
OIC chief executive Stephen Dawe said the three applications from Ms Stockwell were still being processed and no decision had been made on whether the purchases could go ahead.
Dean Stockwell has appeared in dozens of Hollywood movies, including Blue Velvet, Airforce One, The Rainmaker, Rites of Passage, Married to the Mob and Paris, Texas.
However, he is probably best known as the hologram Al in the television programme Quantum Leap.
