An unusual Christmas gift targeting couples struggling to get pregnant has been offered up by an anonymous benefactor in Wellington.
According to Fertility Associates, a previous patient of their Wellington clinic has gifted one cycle of fertility treatment as a Christmas gift.
The recipient of the gift would need to have undergone two publicly funded, unsuccessful treatment cycles at the Fertility Associates Wellington clinic. They would also have to be unable to afford a third private cycle, and would need to satisfy several conditions such as being a non-smoker and of healthy weight, Fertility associates said.
Motivation behind the gift was due to the benefactor - who is now a parent themselves - wanting to give another couple the opportunity to experience the same joy.
