A word with the Chef/food writer.
The one ingredient I can't live without is ... flaky salt.
I have $20 and four people to feed, I'm making ... a small bowl of pasta with rainbow chard from my garden. Rainbow chard leaves sliced and stalks chopped, wilted in olive oil, with salt and chilli flakes. Pasta with some of the cooking water combined with chard. The second course would be slivers of lamb fry panfried with apple and sherry to deglaze the pan. Dessert is banana fritters with whipped cream - if there's any money left.
I'm tired and hungry, I am ordering takeaways from ... Eastern Egret in Waikanae on the Kapiti Coast. The dinner deal is three dishes and enough for two to four people and is full of freshly cooked seasonal vegetables.
The person I'd most like to cook for is ... President Barack Obama. I have cooked for many heads of state but never a President of the United States.
The best meal I have ever eaten was ... at the little chateau belonging to the Laurent Perrier family, cooked by their chef and gardener. It was spring and when dessert came through the door you could smell the strawberries.
Oh dear, it's my last meal, I'm eating ... crayfish with aioli and drinking Neudorf Moutere chardonnay. A little salad from my garden to follow with balsamic vinaigrette.
