THE APPRENTICE
In the two-hour finale, Dawna must host a fashion show and Bethenny a circus. Which kind of sums up what reality TV is all about. The lucky winner gets to work with Martha Stewart, while the other will probably get a soppy Dear John letter from the politically correct boss.

THE WHO: THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT
Billed as the world's first rock'n' roll disaster movie, this legendary film chronicles the band's outrageous antics as they become superstars. Vintage TV gigs, interviews and club dates from their early R&B period (some of the footage rescued from rubbish bins and painstakingly restored by the film-maker) give an insight into one of the greatest bands of all time.

THAT'LL TEACH 'EM
A group of smart British kids are put to work in a 50s-style grammar school, where they're divided into single-sex classes to see if their grades improve.

VITAL SIGNS
She's barely left our screens as the driven hotel manager Rebecca Mitchell in Hotel Babylon, and now Tamzin Outhwaite is back in a new series. This time she's playing Rhoda Bradley, a working-class mum in a dead-end supermarket job who decides to go to medical school. And to show this is a serious role, her sex siren blond locks have been replaced by a frumpy brunette hairdo.
Tonight, Rhoda rushes her daughter to the hospital with severe abdominal pains, and while there learns that the health service is recruiting older people from less privileged backgrounds.
With the support of husband and childhood sweetheart Tony (Steve Waddington), she decides to become a doctor.
Of course, her life-changing path is not smooth - she must contend with a hostile tutor as well as juggling studies, part-time work in the supermarket and the demands of three children.
9.30PM, PRIME
THE L WORD
It's the show you should watch with a group of girlfriends. Bette engages in a battle of wills with the chairman of the gallery board and takes a desperate step. Jenny struggles with her feelings for Marina, and Dana finally gets a date.

THE GREAT WHITE HYPE
Herald rating: * *
Comedy set in the world of boxing, starring Samuel L. Jackson as a promoter whose star fighter (Damon Wayans) is a dim-witted but highly skilled heavyweight champion. Plenty of big stars including Jeff Goldblum and Jamie Foxx, but it probably won't hold your attention for the full 15 rounds. (1996)
8.30PM, SKY MOVIES 2
THE INTERPRETER
