BAD GIRLS
There's no let-up in the scandals and lurid behaviour in the eighth series of this gloriously trashy and over-the-top women's prison drama in which the screws are as dysfunctional as the inmates.
New deputy governor Lou Stoke (Amanda Donohoe) turns up for her first day at Larkhall prison after a night out at a lap dancing bar, hungover and reeking of booze. She arrives to find staff and inmates struck down by a mystery illness.
Upon the discovery of a secret lab, the finger of suspicion is pointed at new inmate Emira Al Jahani (Laura Dos Santos), wife of a suspected terrorist bomber. In fact, she's been pressed into making crystal meth by Natalie (Dannielle Brent).
The inmates deal with the issue of Emira being a Muslim with their usual cultural sensitivity. Witness this exchange about why she wears a burqa.
Julie J: "What you doing going around wearing all that clobber for then, eh?" Darlene: "Cause she butt ugly."

MEET THE FOCKERS
Herald rating: * *
The sequel to Meet The Parents is basically a retread of the first movie, reinforced by the inclusion of Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand as Gaylord's (Ben Stiller) parents. Two liberal, free-thinking ex-hippies, they are at odds with Gaylord's soon to be father-in-law, ex-CIA operative Jack Byrnes (Robert De Niro). Drags in places and frustrates in others. (2004)

SEDUCING DOCTOR LEWIS
Herald rating: * * * *
Charming French-Canadian comedy about the residents of a small fishing village on an isolated island who hope for economic recovery when they are promised a new factory. The catch is, they must convince a new doctor to become a full-time resident. (2003)
10.25PM, SKY MOVIES 1
THE SKELETON KEY
Herald rating: * * * *
Good, honest fright-film starring Kate Hudson as a caregiver who gets involved in a New Orleans family's generations-old hoodoo curse. Fairly predictable, but it keeps the tension up and, thankfully, steers clear of the usual Scooby-Doo-style ending. (2005)
