Trump to launch TV shopping network

Real estate tycoon turned television star Donald Trump plans to create his own television shopping network, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Trump, who appears on NBC in his own reality television show The Apprentice, told the financial daily he wants to open his own "Trump Shopping Network".

The billionaire told the Journal he "was looking at a number of different alternatives" and said his network "doesn't necessarily have to be the NBC channel".

But according to a source quoted in the Journal, Trump has had preliminary talks with NBC, which owns 30 per cent of home-shopping channel ShopNBC.
