Fans got a sneak peek at the last chapter in the sci-fi saga Star Wars today as the trailer for 'Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith' hit the internet.
The clip has begun screening in US cinemas before Disney-Pixar's new computer-animated comedy The Incredibles but a version was unofficially released to several film websites and spread quickly to fan sites.
The 1 minute 40 second trailer shows a hint of Anakin Skywalker's (Hayden Christensen) turn to the dark side as he embraces evil and becomes Darth Vader. Vader's unmistakable rasping breath can be heard echoing from the soundtrack before he speaks to an unseen Darth Sidious saying: "Yes Master".
Shots of the familiar heavy black mask and cloak will thrill fans as Vader, strapped to a table, begins to rise.
The clip also sees the return of characters such as wookie Chewbacca, Jedi master Yoda, droids R2-D2 and C-3PO and Anakin Skywalker's love interest Padme from the previous film 'Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones'.
Director George Lucas has previously said 'Revenge of the Sith' will be the darkest instalment in the six-movie series which was introduced with 'Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope' in 1977.
