The weird and the wonderful were on display at Friday night's Style Pasifika Awards, but it was traditional designs that took home the evening's top awards.
Winning the Supreme Award, Brisbane-based New Zealander Tallulah Filloy impressed judges with her design, Te Moko - a unique interpretation of a traditional Maori woman's costume and traditional Maori moko, which combined a wool/cashmere blend dress base with feathers and bamboo.
Filloy also won the Traditionally Inspired category for the second time, after first claiming the title in 2004.
Tauranga designer Kerry Funnell was named Overall Runnerup with her Afterglow collection, which featured three suits made from merino wool, jacquard and wool crepe and were inspired by Maori carving designs.
