Dynamic New Zealand percussion group Strike has been invited to attend the prestigious triennial Taipei percussion convention starting on Wednesday.
Founded in 1993, Strike is a high-energy drumming group made up of top New Zealand percussionists including a woman and four men. The group specialises in movement-based or choreographed percussion.
They are one of eight percussion ensembles from around the world invited to the festival.
Manager Lynley Hill said the tour would be a good chance to perform in front of an audience likely to include many well recognised people in the world of percussion.
Strike, who performed a sellout show at the Tauranga Arts Festival in October, will perform on December 29, 30 and 31.
