Hollywood superstars Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro are both said to be planning films featuring the former communist-era Yugoslav leader Marshall Tito, Croatian media said.
Stallone, who shot to fame with his Academy Award-winning underdog story Rocky, reportedly wants to make a US$200 million ($284.4 million) film biography of Tito and will travel to Zagreb next year for pre-production.
Meanwhile, De Niro is said to be planning a movie based on Cold War CIA agent James Angelton in which Tito will be one of the principal characters.
Marshall Tito, who commanded Yugoslav partisans during World War II, was the leader of socialist Yugoslavia between 1945 until his death in 1980.
Earlier this year, he was voted the greatest Croat who ever lived, in a poll carried out by the weekly Nacional.
