Irish comedian Dylan Moran has agreed to a third Auckland show after the first two sold out. The Black Books star will perform at St James on April 21. (Tickets from Ticket Direct.) Moran, who made his name as the creator and star of the BBC comedy, is also a renowned stand-up comedian who had one critic gushing that he "makes you laugh so hard you have to put your head between your knees and gasp for air".
This is not a place we would recommend gasping for air but, hey, at least that's one Irishman who's still coming ...
And in other funnyman news, Scottish stand-up Danny Bhoy has announced he is appearing at the International Comedy Festival. Bhoy, who has enjoyed two national tours here, plays (among other venues outside Auckland) the St James on May 17 and the Bruce Mason Centre, Takapuna on May 25. Tickets are available from Ticketek and Ticket Direct.
If you can't wait that long to see the comedyfest big guns, check out the 5-star Comedy Preview on May 11. Performers include Addy Van Der Borgh, Rhod Gilbert, Andy Parsons, Stephen K Amos and Phil Nichol.
Time for a laugh
